Melbourne’s new emergency speaker system is being rolled out now.

As first revealed on 3AW earlier in the year, the City of Melbourne and state government are installing alert sirens in the CBD that will let the public know of a possible terror attack.

The “Run, Hide, Tell” warning system was successfully used during the London Bridge terror attack in June.

Lord Mayor Robert Doyle has recently returned from a trip to London to find out more and said the rollout would start now.

“We’ll do it as quickly as we can,” he said.
