New app lets women share creepy experiences to help make Melbourne safer

Women are being asked to share their creepy experiences to help make Melbourne safer.

A new app and website lets women map the spots where they have creepy or uncomfortable experiences – as well as positive ones – to create a real-time picture of the safest places in the city.

Susanne Legena from Plan International told Ross and John no experience is insignificant.

‘It’s sometimes just that it doesn’t feel right, you’re being harassed, there isn’t adequate lighting,’ she said.

Ms Legena said the information will be taken to policy-makers to help make the city safer.

Ela Carte said Rebecca Walk, along the Yarra between Kings Way and Spencer Street, makes her uncomfortable. Burnso nominated King Street.
