New budget airline vows to close gap in Australian travel market
A new independent budget airline will shake up Australia’s aviation sector when it takes off next year.
Bonza is expected to launch in early 2022, pending regulatory approval.
The airline is backed by US private investment firm 777 Partners.
Founder of Bonza, Tim Jordan, says the airline won’t “be a ‘me too’ airline”.
“You won’t see us flying on the golden triangle between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. That’s not us,” he told Ross and Russel.
“It’s been a bit selective thus far in terms of who get the low fares and we want to make sure that all of Australia gets more choice, more destinations, more routes.
“That’s what we’re about. It’s about opening up more of Australia to the rest of Australia.”
