New exit on the Tullamarine Freeway to open tomorrow

A new exit outbound on the Tulla Freeway will open in time for tomorrow’s peak, in what VicRoads says will improve traffic flow for commuters heading to the airport.

Chris Miller from VicRoads told Ross and John the new English St exit will take drivers into the area of Essendon Fields.

“If you’re heading out of town on the Tulla Freeway, is get off on what used to be the Bulla Road exit, Bulla Road and English Street exits are now one and the same thing,” he said.

“Quite regularly we’d see cars queuing back up onto the Freeway and that obviously impedes the flow, so if we get them 0ff the freeway we solve that problem altogether and make getting off at English Street safer too.”
