New interview: Bancroft lays blame squarely on Warner for sandpaper scandal
Cameron Bancroft has pointed the finger squarely at David Warner in a revealing interview to be played on Fox later today.
Speaking to Adam Gilchrist, in an interview to be aired on Fox Sports during the Boxing Day Test lunch break, Bancroft says Warner was the one who suggested he use sandpaper on the ball.
“Here we have Cameron Bancroft throwing David Warner under the bus,” Tony Jones said.
“If that’s the case, then I don’t think we should see David Warner in the Australian colours ever again.”
“He can’t play for Australia again, if he’s been identified as the architect.”

In the interview, Bancroft says he felt pressured into cheating, because he was new to the side and wanted to fit in.
“Dave [Warner] suggested to me to carry the action out on the ball given the situation we were in in the game and I didn’t know any better,” Bancroft said.
“I didn’t know any better because I just wanted to fit in and feel valued, really, as simple as that.”
Warner has previously apologised for his part in the scandal.
