An Australian workplace psychologist supports a new law in France which allows staff to ‘switch off’ from work after hours.

It means workers have a legal right to ignore emails or messages once they have left for the day.

Alexina Baldini, from Enable Workplace Consulting, told 3AW Drive it was a good thing.

‘We’ve found many people need somebody else to help them say no,’ she explained.

‘They might feel like they have to be available all the time and are actually going to be a better worker if they’re more available.

‘So actually having the workplace set the scene we’ve found can be really helpful for a lot of people.’
