New Lord of the Rings show set to create ‘worldwide noise’ on Amazon Prime
The new Amazon Prime series, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, is set to premiere tomorrow and will become one of the most expensive shows ever made.
The new series is expected to cost $465 million US for the season, which compared to popular show Game of Thrones cost a lesser $100 million US per season.
“It’s a big chunk of cash and they need this to work,” Co-Creator and Senior Editor of TV Blackbox Robert McKnight told Tom Elliott.
“It’s been pretty divisive, a lot of fans of J.R.R Tolkien are not happy with this because it’s not based on the works of Tolkien, it’s inspired by Tolkien, they’re saying it’s the book he never wrote.”
“A show like this is about creating worldwide noise.”
