New magnetic leash to help protect surfers from shark attacks

How do you stop a shark attacking? Give it a headache.

That’s the technology being used by Jack Perry, owner of the Modom Shark Leash.

It’s being launched today.

The band, attached to the surfer, will send out electrical waves that mess with a sharks senses.

But it won’t deter the biggest predator.

‘Great White’s a such an unknown species, they attack from such a long distance away,’ Mr Perry told Ross and John.

‘We’re not making any claims against them.’

But he said it worked on all other shark species.
