New polling has revealed the Allan government would win an election if it was held today, sparking questions about what the Coalition has to gain the support of Victorians.

Director of Red Bridge Polling, Kos Samaras, says there are people in Victoria who have never voted for the Liberal party, and have no intention to.

“Victoria’s a very tribal place when it comes to politics … If they develop a disquiet towards Labor … they tend to jump to minor parties and independents,” he told Jacqui Felgate.

Mr Samaras says it’s a trend that has been around since the 2022 election when significant swings away from Labor didn’t go to the Liberals.
