New rules influencers may soon have to start following

Ross and Russ

A federal bill proposed by Independent MP Sophia Scamps could stop influencers from promoting junk food to children, in an effort to curb childhood obesity.

Associate professor from the global centre of obesity at Deakin University Gary Sacks says that kids often “demand” products that are heavily pushed on social media.

Mr Sacks says the bill can therefore help “protect” children from advertising that “hits them from every angle”.
