New study says drinking hot drinks could cause cancer
A World Health Organisation study says that drinking beverages at temperatures above 65 degrees Celsius could cause people to develop cancer of the esophagus.
Drinking tea, coffee or other hot beverages at this temperature can cause significant burns.
3AW Mornings put hot drinks to the test.
Program Producer Michael Hilder presented Neil Mitchell with three hot drinks and tested their temperatures.
- Skinny Latte – 42.4c
- Camomile Tea – 75.8c
- Boiling Water – 70.2c
