New ‘supermax’ youth jail at Werribee could cost Tim Pallas his seat, according to new poll
Anger at plans to build a new ‘supermax’ youth jail at Werribee could see treasurer Tim Pallas lose his seat, according to a new poll.
The Herald Sun galaxy poll shows Mr Pallas’ primary vote in Werribee has been cut to 29 per cent – about half of what it was in 2014.
Three in four Werribee residents said they thought the treasurer was doing a poor job representing them.
Meanwhile, 21 per cent said they would vote for One Nation if an election was held today.
Thousands of residents took to the streets last week to protest against plans to build a youth jail in their community.
