New train timetable to ease pain on crowded lines

Three of Melbourne’s most overcrowded railway lines will get extra peak-hour trains, with the government announcing 30 new services.

They say it’ll create room for an extra 27,000 passengers.

The timetable update will boast new peak-hour services on the Werribee, Sunbury and Craigieburn lines.

The new timetable kicks in on August 27.
