New union campaign pushes to enshrine the right to disconnect
The Australian Services Union is pushing for the right to disconnect from work outside of work hours to be enshrined in the Fair Work Act in a new campaign.
Founder and workplace laywer at Kelly Workplace Lawyers, Joseph Kelly, says people should have the right to disconnect from work.
“Under the Fair Work Act – it sets a maximum amount of number during the day, and then it says an employer can ask you to work more hours provided they’re reasonable,” he told Tom Elliott.
