The development of a $650 million dollar wind farm to be built in Victoria’s south-west will take into account a threatened bird species.

The government announced yesterday the 66 turbine wind farm will be built near Dundonell.

Plans were altered to accommodate the breeding and flocking habits of the brolga.

Australian Birdlife Magazine editor Sean Dooley told 3AW Breakfast there were only 600 left in the state.
