New Zealand sports coach kidnapped and robbed in Rio
A New Zealand sports coach has been kidnapped and robbed in Brazil as concerns grow about security for both Olympians and tourists ahead of the games.
Lesley Deverall from Newstalk ZB says the victim, Jason Lee is a Jiu Jitsu teacher who’s been living in Brazil for about a year.
‘This man says he was picked up by 2 people in police uniform, but put in a private car.’
‘And driven to two ATMs where he was forced to withdraw a large sum of money for what he calls a bribe.’ – Lesley told 3AW News.
