A Richmond man has written to The Age to protest the prevalence of the term ‘y’know’. 

Nick Carr later told Tom Elliott the danger of this new colloquialism.

‘It’s a filler, which, to me, is a sign of sloppy thinking,’ he said.

‘The way we speak does change how we think.’

Earlier, Ross and John spoke to a Herald Sun letter-writer who doesn’t like people complaining about over-crowded trains.

Judy Wright from Carrum Downs thinks reports of a crowding crisis are a beat-up.

‘It was standing room only back then,’ she wrote of her youth.
