Nick Maxwell reflects on Scott Pendlebury’s ‘astonishing’ captaincy

Former Collingwood captain Nick Maxwell has spoken on Scott Pendlebury’s “astonishing” captaincy run.

Pendlebury announced today to the club on his decision to step down as captain, nine years after taking over from Maxwell himself.

Maxwell has particularly been impressed with Pendlebury’s high level of consistency, being a regular in the top three in the club best-and-fairest, year after year.

“It’s just astonishing he’s had that high level of performance consistently over so long,” Maxwell told Matt Granland, filling in for Sam McClure on 3AW’s Wide World of Sports.
