3AW’s Nick McCallum fears another pedestrian death in Melbourne’s CBD is imminent due to mobile phone use.

McCallum, filling in for Tom Elliott, encountered multiple cases of pedestrians not paying attention to traffic while he was driving to work on Tuesday.

He said two blatantly walked across the road when they weren’t entitled to do so.

“They looked at me in annoyance and then kept going, against the lights,” McCallum explained.

“It’s a disaster waiting to happen.

“This, I reckon, in the city is getting out of control.

“Somebody will be killed again soon.”
