Nick McCallum says Cory Bernardi is ‘dreaming’ if he wants to form a new party

Cory Bernardi is reportedly about to split from the Coalition to form his own party.

Senator Bernardi plans to launch the new Australian Conservatives Party early next year.

But Nick McCallum doesn’t think he has the profile to make an impact on the political scene.

‘I think he’s dreaming. I don’t think a lot of people know who the hell he is,’ Nick said.

To test this, 3AW Drive producer Alyssa Allen took to the streets to ask the public.

At the corner of Spencer and Collins streets, Alyssa approached passers by and asked if they know who Mr Bernardi is and what he stands for.

Alyssa said only half the people had heard of him.
