Nick Xenophon tells Tom Elliott why he won’t support a same-sex marriage plebiscite

The government’s proposed same-sex marriage plebiscite appears to be in trouble.

Nick Xenophon and his team have declared they won’t support it.

The South Australian senator told Tom Elliott politicians were ‘paid to make decisions’ and that should apply here.

‘A vote in the parliament makes more sense to us,’ Mr Xenophon said.
