RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Nightclubbers have helped restrain a shotgun-wielding intruder in Melbourne’s west.

As first heard on the Rumour File, a man brandishing a sawn-off shotgun jumped the fence of the Mynt nightclub in Werribee on Sunday morning.

Victoria Police have confirmed security and patrons at the venue restrained the man before officers arrived.

The man was on bail.

A Hoppers Crossing man, 20, was arrested and charged with a number of offences including affray, prohibited person carrying a firearm, assault with a weapon, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

A Point Cook man, 20, was released pending further inquiries.

Tom Elliott spoke with Adam on Monday afternoon. He was at the venue when the drama unfolded.
