Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass has hit out at the state government’s electric vehicle policy, a policy she deemed “unfair” and “wrong”.

The Ombudsman has tabled a report in parliament today looking into the scheme by the Department of Transport and Planning, which saw electric vehicle drivers charged per kilometre they drove.

“Overall, what we found is that the department has a discretion which they simply haven’t been using,” Ms Glass told Neil Mitchell.
