‘Not going to believe this’: Staggering amount new governor-general will be paid revealed

New Governor-General Sam Mostyn will be paid more than $700,000 when she takes over from David Hurley on July 1.

In a bill released to parliament on Monday, the staggering figure was revealed, representing a $200,000 pay rise for the role.

“You’re not going to believe this number,” Heidi Murphy said on 3AW Drive.

“It sounds insane to me. Eye watering is another term I would use.”
