‘Not going to survive’: Bernie Finn predicts the Liberal Party will soon ‘die’

Former Liberal MP Bernie Finn fears the Liberal Party “is not going to survive”.

Mr Finn described the party’s treatment of controversial Liberal MP Moira Deeming as “appalling”, and indicative of a broader problem within the party.

“You see the factions, you see the fighting and you see the personal hatreds and I just can’t see how it’s (the Liberal Party) going to survive,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“I think really the bigger issue is the future of the Liberal Party and at the minute I’m not sure it has one.”

NEIL MITCHELL: “How soon does it die?”

BERNIE FINN: “I think after the next federal election.”

Mr Finn’s comments come after Ms Deeming revealed plans to sue Victorian Liberal Leader John Pessuto over her nine-month suspension from the parliamentary party.
