‘Nothing short of a disgrace’: Children exposed to weeks of toxic mould at Mornington Peninsula school

Children have been exposed to toxic mould for several weeks at a school on the Mornington Peninsula, forcing kids into cramped temporary classrooms.

3AW Drive has been told kids have become sick as a result of the exposure at Balnarring Primary School, with the education department being called on to provide more support for the school.

“(This) is nothing short of a disgrace and a serious health risk to our kids,” Jacqui Felgate said on 3AW.

Sarah, who has a daughter at the school, says she wasn’t happy with the way the school had dealt with the situation after becoming aware of the mould problem.

“The communication from the school hasn’t been particularly great,” she said on 3AW Drive.
