Power bills have risen by over 20 per cent in the last two years and a growing number of Australians are concerned about their ability to pay their bills.

Manager of policy and research at the St Vincent De Paul Society, Gavin Dufty, told Tom Elliott he expects the number of Australians on energy repayment plans to grow, and more targeted financial support aimed at those who are in greatest need is necessary.

“We think that would do a bit to mitigate the price increases that people are now experiencing,” he said.
