Many Victorians are victims of number-plate cloning, which involves criminals stealing or copying registration plates from another vehicle and using them on a vehicle of their own.

Paul Maric from CarExpert.com.au says his company have received many messages from people who are victims of number-plate cloning and has monitored the issue for a number of months.

“If the person is driving erratically, its probably because its a car with a stolen plate,” Maric said on 3AW Drive.
