Offender on the run after stolen Mercedes sparks police chase

An offender remains on the run after a stolen Mercedes sparked a police chase at Cranbourne.

Angelo alerted Neil Mitchell to the dramatic incident on Monday morning.

“There are police everywhere,” he said.

“They’ve swarmed the police and the helicopter is flying about.”

Police said there was an attempt made to stop the stolen white Mercedes sedan on Cochrane Street at Cranbourne West about 10.30am.

The driver failed to pull over.

The car was later found dumped in the car park of a Cranbourne shopping centre.

The male offender ran from the scene and no arrests have been made.

The investigation remains ongoing.
