Three offenders remain on the run following a spate of armed robberies at fast food outlets and service stations in Melbourne’s east on Thursday morning.

“The Hamburglar” alerted 3AW Breakfast’s Rumour File to the news.

All-up, six convenience stores and fast food outlets at Glen Waverley, Forest Hill, Box Hill and Blackburn were targeted in the space of just 30 minutes.

Police have been told two men, wearing balaclavas, entered the stores armed with a hand gun and edged weapon, shortly after 4am.

They stole cigarettes and cash before fleeing with a third offender in an SUV.

Fortunately, none of the staff confronted by the offenders suffered any physical injuries.

Police appealing for witnesses as the search for the offenders continues.
