Older brother of Christian Petracca to skip footy to watch him debut for Melbourne

The older brother of Melbourne youngster Christian Petracca has made the tough decision to skip his own football game to watch the No.2 draft pick make his debut for the Demons on Saturday.

Julian Petracca is the captain of the Mitcham Tigers, which has a crucial Eastern Football League clash with Wantirna South this week.

In an unfortunate twist, the Demons take on St Kilda at Etihad Stadium at the same time.

‘It was a tough call,’ Julian told 3AW Breakfast.

‘I thought long and hard, but family comes first.’
