Olivia Newton-John confirms attendance at Melbourne gala

Olivia Newton-John has today confirmed she will be in Melbourne next month to attend her annual fundraiser gala.

The much-loved entertainer has been battling cancer for the second time.

The illness forced Newton-John to postpone her US and Canada tour earlier this year.

Today Newton-John confirmed she can attend the annual ONJ gala in Melbourne on Friday 8th September.

She will also lead this year’s Wellness Walk and Research Run on 17th September.

“During this healing time, recovering from my breast cancer relapse, I’ve had time to reflect on how proud I am of the centre,” Newton-John said in a video message.

“The wellness centre is improving the lives of people with cancer.

“This was my dream and it’s now a reality.”

Newton-John opened the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in The Austin Hospital in 2014.

She first battled breast cancer 25 years ago.
