Olympic shooter Michael Diamond facing a string of charges

Two-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Diamond is in doubt for his seventh games after being arrested on gun charges.

He’s been charged with high-range drink-driving and carrying a shotgun in his car.

It follows an alleged domestic dispute with his brother near Newcastle.

He’s due to appear in court next month.

Diamond had been expected to fill one of the two trap shooting spots, but an 11th-hour selection appeal by a teenage competitor prompted a delay in announcing the final team.
