WORD ON THE STREET

A man has been arrested following two ram raids and a car crash in the outer south-east this morning.

Police believe a supermarket in Cranbourne on the corner of Thompsons Road and Springhill Drive was targeted using a stolen Nissan Pulsar at 2.15am.

It’s believed a second store in Carrum Downs was targeted a short time later where cigarettes were stolen.

A short time later the car was allegedly involved in a crash on McCormacks Road and Van Haaster Driver in Skye.

A 21-year-old Oakleigh man was arrested a short distance from the scene and was taken to hospital with minor injuries and is under police guard.

Police are still searching for a number of men believed to be involved.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
