One dead, two hospitalised following head-on collision on the Mornington Peninsula

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Red Hill yesterday afternoon.

Detectives believe the two cars were travelling in opposite directions on Arthurs Seat Road when the head-on collision occurred, around 5pm.

A male passenger who is believed to be aged in his early 20s died at the scene.

The 23-year-old male driver of the same vehicle has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition and is under police guard.

The 44-year-old male driver of the other vehicle has also been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
