Opposition accuses Jacinta Allan of being dragged ‘kicking and screaming’ over bail reforms

The opposition says Premier Jacinta Allan has been dragged “kicking and screaming” into reforming state bail laws.
The Allan government is preparing to announce reforms, which they say will be the toughest in the country.
Shadow Attorney General Michael O’Brien said his party would support the laws, but wasn’t happy with the Premier’s attitude to the state’s crime crisis.

“Anything that improves community safety we’ll support,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“Victorians know the premier doesn’t have her heart in this – she’s been dragged kicking and screaming (to reform the laws).”
