The state opposition has refined an idea to offer rapid assistance to victims of traumatic events.

Opposition Leader Matthew Guy and Retired Police Chaplain, Reverend Jim Pilmer sat down with Neil Mitchell in studio.

Matthew Guy says it will work similar to the CFA, with accredited volunteers on-call.

“If it can help just 0.1 per cent of what someone is going through, I think it’s worth it,” Guy said 3AW Mornings.

The aim is to help those on the scene who need support – get the assistance they need sooner, rather than later.
