Federal opposition leader Sussan Ley has called out Daniel Andrews for choosing to attend a controversial military parade in Beijing on Wednesday.

The former Victorian premier attended the Victory Day parade, and was pictured in close proximity to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un and Russia president Vladimir Putin.

“This isn’t a trade event – this is a military parade,” she said on 3AW Mornings.

“Our ambassador to China isn’t going. These former Labor leaders need to explain how it’s appropriate to go to a military parade attended by Kim Jong-un and Vladimir Putin.”
