Opposition leader says CFMEU wage blow out is ‘biggest fraud’ in Australian history

Opposition leader Peter Dutton says reports of the CFMEU driving up the amount of money being paid to their workers is the “biggest fraud” in Australian history.

His comments come as the CFMEU’s dealings continues to be scrutinised following bombshell reports from investigative Nick McKenzie.

Speaking with Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive, Mr Dutton was strong in his condemnation of the construction driving up wages to what he believes is an excessive level.

“It’s an incredible amount (of money being paid to workers),” he said on 3AW.

“No one is begrudging anyone getting a fair day’s pay, but I do think this is the biggest fraud in our country’s history.”
