Matthew Guy suspects the UFU is behind the latest resignation of a senior firefighter.

MFB deputy chief officer David Youssef has resigned after 30 years of service, saying he wants to pursue other opportunities.

The opposition leader told Tom Elliott he ‘suspects’ the UFU was making life difficult for him.

Mr Youssef’s resignation comes less than a month after chief officer Peter Rau quit amid claims he was bullied by the firefighters union.

‘The MFB is a difficult place to be at the moment,’ Mr Guy said.

‘We are weeks away from a serious fire season, and our fire service is in chaos. The government just cannot manage emergency services.’
