Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin has confirmed mobile and internet services are starting to be restored after an unpreceded outage on Wednesday morning.

The service outage affected various sectors, resulting in widespread delays on Melbourne’s train network during the morning peak.

Optus is promising to compensate customers after the disruption.

“We are looking at what we can do to say thank you to our customers for their patience,” she told Tony Moclair on 3AW Afternoons.

“Unfortunately it was a nationwide outage of our network, both mobile and fixed. We’re really sorry this occurred.”
