Optus Small Business Break: Declan Lee from Gelato Messina
SMALL BUSINESS BREAK
Small business is the backbone of the economy, but it often gets overlooked by government.
In a six-part series, Tom Elliott will quiz successful small business operators to see what people can learn from those who have been there and done that.
This Tuesday, Tom spoke to Declan Lee, co-founder of Gelato Messina.
Gelato Messina started with one store in Sydney in 2006, but will grow to reach 15 across Australia in the coming months.
Mr Lee said his company’s core value is honesty.
‘That’s across the board – the product, the way you treat people, the way you treat staff, the way you deal with complaints and compliments,’ he said.
He said the main focus is on the product, but he does keep an eye on competitors’ prices.
