SMALL BUSINESS BREAK

Small business is the backbone of the economy, but it often gets overlooked by government.

In a six-part series, Tom Elliott will quiz successful small business operators to see what people can learn from those who have been there and done that.

This Tuesday, Tom spoke to Tim Bishop, founder of Man with a Van.

Mr Bishop said keeping things simple has been the secret to his success.

‘As we grew, the temptation was to complicate things, but everything has to be repeatable,’ he said.

‘Do one thing, well.’

Mr Bishop said he didn’t want to over-stretch the business at the expense of the quality of the service.
