Writer, activist and Orthodox Jewish community member, Alex Fein, says she’s “sickened” by the behaviour of the extreme ultra-Orthodox Jews who gathered at a Ripponlea synagogue in breach of COVID-19 restrictions.

Ms Fein says the group “have very little contact with the rest of the community” and refuse to listen to advice coming from outside of their community.

“They don’t believe the laws that the rest of us abide by apply to them,” she told Neil Michell.

“I’m so sickened by the fact they’re using the phrase ‘Jewish lives matter’.

“They need to be dealt with by the law.”
