Australian actress Margot Robbie has been nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars.

Robbie received a nod for her role as controversial US figure skater Tonya Harding in I, Tonya.

The film itself was snubbed for a best picture nomination, which means Robbie, as a producer, would have received a second nomination.

Another Australian, editor Lee Smith, was also nominated for his work on war epic Dunkirk.
