There’s been a big jump in the number of drivers caught by speed and red-light cameras.

3AW Mornings producer Heidi Murphy told Neil Mitchell the figures for the past financial revealed a 45 per cent increase.

Two years ago: 474,000 drivers were caught
Last year: 689,000 drivers were caught

The top camera site is at Warrigal and Batesford roads at Chadstone; more than 93,000 people were caught there.

The next busiest camera is at the Flinders and Williams street intersection in the CBD (66,000), followed by Lakeside Drive in St Kilda (51,000).

Red-light and speed cameras pulled in $178 million in 2014-15.
