Out of control bushfire south-east of Ararat spreads to nearby towns

An out of control bushfire which originally broke out at Bayindeen has spread with emergency warnings issued for the following suburbs:

• Ballyrogan, Bayindeen, Beaufort, Buangor, Buangor East, Challicum, Cross Roads, Eurambeen, Lake Goldsmith, Langi Kal Kal, Main Lead, Middle Creek, Mount Cole, Nerring, Raglan, Shirley, Stockyard Hill, Trawalla, Waterloo, Yalla-y-poora.

Leaving immediately is the safest option before conditions become too dangerous.

The bushfire is travelling in a south-easterly direction from Bayindeen-Rocky Road.
