Entertainment reporter Peter Ford has vowed to never catch a taxi in Melbourne again, after taking to social media recently to voice his frustration after his fourth bad taxi experience in the last month.

Ford told Ross and Russel he gets the feeling the taxi industry is “out of control” in Melbourne at the moment.

“There’s something rotten in Melbourne at the moment with the cab industry,” he said on 3AW Breakfast.

It comes after an opinion letter in The Age, which reported disturbing behaviour by three taxi drivers at Crown Casino on the weekend, with all three stating they’d only take cash instead of card.

Former leader of the Transport Matters Party and advocate for the taxi industry Rod Barton responded to the behaviour of the drivers, stating it’s “not good enough”.

“It’s happening far too much,” Mr Barton told Ross and Russel.
