Outgoing AFL boss responds to grand final entertainment rumour on 3AW
Outgoing AFL boss Gillon McLachlan has confirmed he’s chasing Bruce Springsteen to perform at this year’s grand final, which will be his last as chief executive.
But he admits securing a performance from the music icon is another matter entirely.
3AW Breakfast’s Ross Stevenson revealed on Friday the AFL was trying to secure a show from Springsteen on the last Saturday in September.
Neil Mitchell asked McLachlan directly later in the morning.
“Always after him, he’s just hard to get,” McLachlan said.
The league chief also laughed off reports he’d “lost hunger” for setting up an AFL club in Tasmania.
He also addressed the drop in crowds this season and the controversial umpire dissent rule.
