‘Outraged’ North Richmond resident makes emotional plea to the Andrews government
A North Richmond resident is taking a last-minute stand against the supervised drug injecting room before the Andrews Government moves to make it permanent.
Sharon told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell, she’s “outraged” by the the government’s response to concerns from locals.

“I’m going to cry because no one will listen to us,” she said.
“I don’t understand why people are not outraged.
“We care about the users but we also care about the school children and we care about our area.”
The legislation covering the injecting room’s five-year trial expires at the end of June.
The state government has received a review into the facility but it yet to release it publicly.
Plans to make the facility permanent are expected to be put to cabinet today.
